Introducing The Big Newhall Book Hunt

If you love the sound of Free Usborne books for your little ones under 10, then don’t miss out on The Big Newhall Book Hunt!

Taking place on Saturday 23 August 2025 from 10am till 1pm, the book hunt was lovingly created by Newhall resident, Rachel Lamb of Little Brown Bear Books, in collaboration with Newhall Projects Ltd.

But, how does it all work?

Simply explore the neighbourhood between 10am and 1pm on the 23rd August and keep a sharp eye for the hidden golden tickets, scattered around the local area.
Clues will be available on the Little Brown Bear Books Instagram account. Follow @littlebrownbearbooks for updates and hints on the day!
Once you’ve found a voucher, bring it to the event base outside New Ground Cafe, New Pond Street and exchange it for a free Usborne book*.
Don’t forget to post a picture of the book you found using the hashtag #thebignewhallbookhunt

Who is Little Brown Bear Books?

Hi, I’m Rachel! I’m your local independent Usborne Partner. I’ve been a resident of Newhall since 2018 and a mummy to my little girl since 2024. I started Little Brown Bear Books earlier this year, providing Usborne books to Newhall and beyond.

One of the things that’s really struck me about our lovely local area is how few activities we have for children. We have all the space, so why aren’t we doing more for our local littles? That’s what inspired The Big Newhall Book Hunt! I reached out to Newhall Projects, who have supported me in bringing the idea to life.
