PARKING & EV CHARGING

PARKING

Parking areas have been provided as part of each phase, including allocated parking bays, undercroft parking and garages. We understand that you want your street to look nice and, when you get home at the end of the day, you want to be able to park your car quickly and easily.

If you are having work carried out at your property and the tradesperson has a commercial vehicle, it is important that you or the driver contact SHW in advance. They will give you authorisation  to park on the estate for a specified period of time. The same applies to any visitors who may be driving a commercial vehicle on to the estate. Advance planning is important to prevent problems.

The aim for Newhall Estate is that Essex County Council will eventually adopt all the roads (with the exception of a few small roads which do not have vehicle access). Currently, the two roads that have been successfully adopted are The Chase and Great Auger Street.

EV CHARGING

Resident EV charging is available in Newhall! The first phase of EV Charge points have been installed in the car park adjacent to the Newhall Project Office at the junction of Bridge Street and Sparrowhawk Way.

Residents who are unsure of the location of our EV Chargers can use what3words to find them. What3words is a simple and innovative system that divides the world into a grid of three-meter squares, with each square assigned a unique three-word address. This means that residents can simply enter the three-word address of the EV Chargers into their smartphone or other device and be directed straight to them.

For the Newhall EV Charger locations TAP the What3Words link below and use your favourite digital map application to find them:

Informal Parking Notices

We are working hard to avoid parking enforcement, so we may sometimes use informal parking notices to politely ask you and visitors to park considerately.

If you have received one of these notices it means that you have parked in a way that may inconvenience a neighbour or a visitor and we would ask that you park more considerately in the future.

In Newhall you should not be parking:
  • On a double yellow line*
  • pavement or verge;
  • on a Junction or raised table;
  • in a disabled bay *unless displaying blue badge;
  • in a visitor bay for a prolonged period;
  • in an allocated bay without permissions; or
  • in an EV Charging bay in an ICE car.

If you are unsure where to park, or if you require more information, please email: newhallestate@shw.co.uk.

REPORTING PARKING CONTRAVENTIONS

  • For parking contraventions that need reporting on one of the adopted roads, please kindly contact the local authority’s appointed parking authority: North Essex Parking Partnership at www.parkingpartnership.org.
  • For parking contravention that needs reporting on an area in The Base, Newhall, please kindly contact Countryside: Partnerships Home Counties – Eastern Home Counties at Customerserviceeast@cpplc.com.
  • For parking contraventions in any other areas of Newhall, kindly contact: newhallestate@shw.co.uk. Newhall Project and SHW have limited powers with regards to enforcement, but we can put an informal notice on vehicles that are causing a problem.
